Woman Jailed for Loud Sex

See the Woman Jailed for Loud Sex

A 49-year-old British woman has already spent time in jail for disturbing her neighbors with her high volume level during sex.

Caroline Cartwright has been married 25 years and she and her husband have sex, apparently quite loudly, every night, causing her neighbors to claim sleep interruption that interferes with their daily lives. She was given a 12-week suspended prison term, but if she violates her antisocial behavior code, she will be sent to jail.

More from The Stir: Can Sex Be Satisfying Without Orgasm?

First of all, bravo for having sex every night after 25 years of marriage. If her neighbors are accurate, she and the hubs are getting it on from midnight until 3 a.m. (The couple did switch to daytime sex so they wouldn't disturb the neighbors' sleep, only to have complaints filed by the mailman and a woman

You Got Caught in a Thunderstorm — and Your Hair Is a Mess
Blot your hair with a paper towel, says David Evangelista, creative director of Cornelia Day Resort, in New York City. Then work in mousse (like L'Oréal Professionnel Volumizing Styling Mousse, $23; luxuryparlor.com) to regain body. Almost good as new!

Your Hair Is Limp, Flat, and Lifeless
Turn your center part into a side part — your hair will instantly have more body. Another option: Flip dry hair upside down and spritz a volumizer at the roots, then slowly flip it back up and blow-dry for a few seconds to set the spray.
Try TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Root Boosting Spray

The Sun Is Frying Your Hair
"The longer your hair, the more you need to treat it with special care or it can get strawlike," says celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves. Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner (on ends only) every other day. Rinse with water alone on off days. Avoid heat-styling (blow-drying, flat-ironing) as often as possible, but if you must, prep hair with a protective spray, such as Frédéric Fekkai Coiff Defense Pre-Style Thermal/UV Protectant, first.
Another tip: When you're at the beach, spread some of the sunscreen you use on your body through your hair so that it doesn't dry out and get crispy.

Surfer-Girl Curls
Tousled waves are perfect for summer because they look great and are also the easiest to re-create. To pull off this look, start at night. In the morning, take the braids out and spray a super-hold hairspray like Aussie Sprunch Catch the Wave Hairspray for all-day hold. Related: How to Get Beachy Waves All Year Round

Pinned Under
Taking a dip in the ocean or pool feels great, but sometimes it doesn't leave your hair looking so great. Want to take a splash without getting chlorine-soaked hair? Soft, Tight Curls
If you already have curly hair, play up your curls with the help of the humidity (as the humidity rises, your hair tends to curl more naturally). It's Time For Your 7-Step Mid-Year Money Checkup

We are saw the It's Time For Your 7-Step Mid-Year Money Checkup

You change the oil in your car when the red light reminder comes on and get diligent about flossing when the dentist sends a postcard about your six-month checkup. So consider this your cue to get ready for the essential mid-year money review.

With six months of earning, saving, and spending under your belt, you've got plenty of data to project how 2010 is going to play out. So let's lift the hood on your finances and give everything a good once-over.

Your 7-step tune-up agenda
The goal of this six-month checkup is to identify potential trouble spots before they become big money gushers. Use this checklist to methodically review each area of your financial empire. Beneath each step note any lingering "to-dos" (e.g., "set aside $50 each week to cover future car repairs,” “open a Roth IRA"). If you cannot complete those items during your financial physical, set a deadline for completion. For added incentive, come up with a reward to enjoy at completion.

Step 1 - Update your personal balance sheet (what you own and what you owe): This will take about 15 to 20 minutes. Simply record the balances of the following items: checking/savings accounts; brokerage accounts; retirement accounts; home equity; short-term debt (credit cards, student/auto loans); and long-term debt (mortgage). Note what direction your money's going (up, down, haywire). If this is your first review, you now have a baseline for your next checkup.

Step 2 - Give your W-4 the once-over: If you earn a steady paycheck (meaning one not dependent on bonuses or fluctuating earnings month-to-month), this is your chance to stop overpaying Uncle Sam -- any more than you already are, that is. If you got a tax refund last year of more than $1,000 and have made no adjustments to your W-4, and if you don't anticipate any major life changes, adjust the number of withholding allowances.

Time for a T4 On The Beach gallery? Yeah, why not?

We saw the Time for a T4 On The Beach gallery? Yeah, why not?

From birds' nest hair to bust legs to balls on the BBQ to Alexandra Burke's puppy licking her on the mouth, T4 On The Beach was, as ever, a brilliant party. Everyone from JLS to The Saturdays to N-Dubz to Chipmunk to Basshunter to Diana Vickers took to the stage in the sunshine at Weston-super-Mare and entertained the thousands who'd wedged themselves onto a train just to watch their idols. Alexandra Burke boogied in some eye-wateringly tight high-waisted American Apparel shorts with statement shoulder top, while Diana Vickers worked '60s chic in a monochrome graphic dress topped with a mahoossive beehive. Gabriella Cilmi strutted across the soggy sand in a pair of very fancy toe-mould Vivienne Westwood heels and Pixie Lott showed off yet another Lipsy creation with one of heat's flower garlands strung around her neck. Ellie Goulding sizzled in a Topshop lace panelled bodysuit and Tulisa from N-Dubz put the rest of her band to shame in a mint green shift. JLS closed the show with an energetic performance just as the heavens opened, but we don't think the crowd (or us, for that reason) minded when their tops got all wet and clingy... Take a look through the gallery below and tell us whose look you like the best.

Elle Macpherson in trouble for eating rhino horn

Watches this video enjoy Elle Macpherson in trouble for eating rhino horn

We knew supermodels often resorted to weird and wonderful treatments to keep themselves looking in tip top condition, but we bet Elle Macpherson's wishing she never revealed her secret. In a recent interview, the leggy star admitted she indulged in a spot of Chinese medicine, namely powdered rhino horn. "It tastes a little bit like crushed bone and fungus in a capsule," she told Times Online. "Does the job though, it works for me." Now animal rights groups are slamming the model for her choices, pointing out that rhinos are an endangered species because of horn poaching. "Poachers usually shoot or tranquilize the animal before sawing off its horn. Rhinos often die from bleeding to death," they explain. Surely a few vitamins would do the same job, Elle?
